Main duties of the job
Provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a varied general practice caseload, including face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. Assess, diagnose and manage acute and long-term conditions, prescribe safely, review medications and arrange appropriate investigations, referrals and follow-up.

Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and support continuity for patients and families. Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to safeguarding, clinical governance, significant-event reviews and quality improvement.

Job responsibilities
As a Salaried GP at Springfield Surgery, youll provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a varied general practice caseload.

Your role will include face-to-face, telephone and online consultations, alongside clinical triage to help ensure patients are seen by the right person, in the right place, at the right time.

Youll assess, diagnose and manage acute and long-term conditions, prescribe safely, review medications and arrange appropriate investigations, referrals and follow-up.

The role also includes home visits for patients who are unable to attend the surgery, as well as providing ongoing medical care and clinical support to patients in our local care homes.

Youll work closely with our wider multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care, contribute to safeguarding and clinical governance, and help us improve how the practice works for both patients and staff.

Experience
Essential

• Experience of working as a GP in UK general practice
• Confident managing a broad range of acute and long-term conditions
• Experience of face-to-face, telephone and online consultations
• Experience of clinical triage and prioritising patient need
• Experience of undertaking home visits and caring for housebound patients
• Experience of providing care to patients in care homes
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Experience of safeguarding, clinical governance and safe prescribing
• Able to manage workload independently while knowing when to seek support

Desirable

• Experience of quality improvement or service development
• Experience of teaching, mentoring or supporting colleagues
• Experience of developing a clinical special interest within primary care

Qualifications
Essential

• GMC registered with a licence to practise
• Included on the NHS England Medical Performers List
• Qualified GP with MRCGP or equivalent
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Up-to-date mandatory training relevant to general practice
