Job summaryThis is an excellent opportunity for doctors wanting to join our enthusiastic and dynamic team and to gain experience at senior level in Emergency Medicine and gain associated skills and competencies in a busy Emergency Department and Major Trauma Centre. We are looking for experienced emergency clinicians who are either post CCT or within 4 months of CCT date. Applicants must have full FRCEM. Emergency Medicine training completed (CCT or portfolio pathway) in the NHS is essential. Fellows will be on their own senior rota line. They will be given consultant liaison roles and a resident to supervise. They will be expected to attend consultant meetings when on shift. Posts have a 20:80 non clinical: clinical split in line with typical consultant posts. Shift patterns will be the same as the consultants. Successful applicants will be appointed an experienced consultant mentor and goals will be set to enhance their CV and aid the transition to becoming a consultant. Main duties of the job- Post CCT fellows will work in all areas of the ED as well as running the department as CIC, leading resus, UTC and paeds shifts and supporting junior colleagues.
- Depending on the candidate's interests, we would expect them to take on a leadership role such as SIM, ultrasound, trauma governance or research. There are also opportunities for involvement in rota management, recruitment and education amongst others.

Job responsibilities- Post CCT Fellows required to perform clinical work in the ED, with the range of problems that present to a busy department in all areas.
- The successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the smooth running of the department including managing majors, resus, paeds and UTC as the senior doctor in charge and being able to supervise juniors.
- Applicants will be expected to take on consultant level SPA liaison roles.
- Further specific roles would depend on the individual needs. These can be discussed in more detail with successful candidate(s).
Person SpecificationQualifications- CCT obtained in Emergency Medicine in the UK (or due within 4 months of application)
- Full FRCEM completed.
- Full registration with General Medical Council
Knowledge- 3 life support courses-ALS, APLS or EPALS and ETC or ATLS all in date
