Job summaryThe Department of Critical Care is purpose built comprising of 16 critical care beds located at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill situated within easy access to local amenities. The hospital benefits from excellent road and rail links to London, Brighton and Gatwick Airport. The Critical Care service is run in an expanding and successful Trust recently rated as "Outstanding" by the Quality Care Commission. The department treats over a thousand inpatients a year requiring varying degrees of clinical support.
The team is friendly, motivated and dynamic, and is supported by two Matrons who both work clinical shifts regularly. We provide a rewarding working environment for all staff with excellent team spirit. Education and training are a key part of maintaining our good record in recruitment and retention within the unit, and we have development and leadership programmes for bands 2 to 7 available within the department or access through the Trust education department.
We are seeking qualified nurses with a minimum of two years ICU experience and the ICU course certificate. This is an innovative developmental role with a requirement to undertake a competence based learning programme incorporating the CC3N Level 4 competency document leading to Junior Sister / Charge Nurse position.
We run a 24/7 service and our staff are expected to be reliable and able to work a combination of day and night shifts.
