Join Our Maternity & Neonatal Staff Bank
We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and skilled Assistant Practitioner Nursery Nurses to join our Maternity and Neonatal Bank Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly across our maternity and neonatal services while making a meaningful difference to the care and experience of babies, parents and families.

As part of our bank workforce, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings, supporting babies requiring postnatal, transitional and special care, while working alongside experienced midwives, nurses and neonatal teams. You will play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality, Family Integrated Care and helping parents build confidence in caring for their baby.

Main duties of the job
About the Role
Working under the direction of registered nursing and midwifery staff, you will provide hands-on care and support to babies and their families, including:

• Supporting infant feeding, including breastfeeding and expressing breast milk.
• Monitoring and recording observations and recognising changes in a baby's condition.
• Supporting babies receiving specialist treatments such as oxygen therapy, blood glucose monitoring, Nasogastric tube insertion and feeding and phototherapy.
• Providing practical and emotional support to parents and families.
• Assisting with admissions, transfers and discharge planning.
• Contributing to a welcoming, safe and caring environment for babies and families.

Who We're Looking For
We are seeking caring and motivated individuals who:

• Hold a Level 4 qualification or have equivalent experience at this level.
• Have experience working in a healthcare or caring environment.
• Demonstrate kindness, compassion and a commitment to family integrated care.
• Communicate effectively and sensitively with babies, parents, families and colleagues.
• Enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Are able to work independently within their scope of practice whilst recognising when to seek support.

Desirable
