We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our specialist neurological care team, supporting adults with conditions including Stroke, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).

About the role
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care, working closely with residents, families and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
You will:

• Assess, plan and deliver individualised nursing care.
• Support residents with complex neurological needs and changing health requirements.
• Administer medication and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Monitor residents' health and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Promote residents' dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing.
• Support a safe, positive and caring environment

Working as part of a small, friendly and competent clinical team, you will work with plenty of autonomy but in a supportive environment with a qualified nurse management team.

With strong communication skills, our nurses are hands on and involved in every aspect of our residents care - ranging from personal care to managing and administering medication. While making sound clinical judgements you will role model best practise and inspire and mentor junior staff to achieve their potential.

We also offer the opportunity to develop your own clinical skills, and work closely with our in-house specialist therapy team to deliver the best outcomes for our residents.

Job responsibilities
Purpose of role:
To ensure clinical care is delivered and available to residents, and that care workers are safely and appropriately overseen and supported during shift for clinical matters.

Specific Responsibilities:
To be directly responsible to the Service Manager
To work closely with the GP and other members of the wider multiple disciplinary team
To provide care to a high standard in the following:

• Experience or knowledge of neurological or physical rehabilitation services
• Assessment of residents, including wound care and pressure area assessments
• Continence assessments and management
• Catheterisation
• Diabetes management
• Clinical Observations
• Venepuncture
• End of life care
• Care planning
• Bowel management

(This list is not exhaustive and may be adapted depending on the needs of residents in the home).
To deliver training and support to care staff in delegated tasks as per general manager guidance
To participate in the on-call rota shared with other Nurses/Support Team Managers/management
To maintain up to date evidence based practice
To attend regular clinical supervisions
To maintaining good team relationships with all staff members throughout the home
To role model behaviours, a sound work ethic and Marbrook Ltds ethos at all times to junior staff, residents and visitors

General Responsibilities:
To keep accurate and clear documentation in line with sector specific and legal requirements.
To participate in audits as required.
To keep abreast of best current approved practice in the profession
To attend all mandatory and developmental training courses relevant to the post and as agreed with the line manager.
To work in accordance and at all times with all relevant legislation e.g. CQC standards, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Care Standards Act 2000, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Care Act 2014 and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SoVA) etc.
To work in accordance with the NMC code of professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates.
To take an active role in own personal and professional development and identify any development needs with the support of your line manager
To act in line with Health and Safety at Work legislation and requirements and in line with Marbrook Ltds approach to Health and Safety at all times.
To adhere to all aspects of security and ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents, staff and visitors at all times.
At all times to: ensure high levels of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive material and information, to respect the dignity and confidentiality of our service users, and to adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998.
To undertake any other duties from time to time, in order to maintain and enhance the service provision and as this role develops

Qualifications
Essential

• A friendly and approachable manner
• Ability to learn and develop independently
• (In line with CQC standards of recruitment) the ability to perform all tasks which are intrinsic to your role, and after reasonable adjustments are made.
• A proven ability to work succesfully as part of a team
• A demonstrated ability to prioritse and work under pressure
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Nursing qualification DiPHE/BSc
• The ability to work efficiently, effectively, diligently and courteously without the need for close supervision
• A commitment to working with people in a person centred approach
• Demonstrates emotional warmth, compassion, kindness and empathy
• The ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities and accountabilities as the job role develops
• The ability to acknowledge own limits and ask for assistance and support when needed
