Job summary
Please note this post is for 15 Hours per week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic band 6 physiotherapist with paediatric experience to come and join our team of paediatric Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists here in Rotherham.This role is a part-time role (15hrs per week) within our mainstream team. You will be joining a community-based team working with children aged 0-19 years with a range of neurological, genetic and developmental conditions. We work in partnership with families, and carers in a variety of settings, including preschool and schools both special and mainstream, patients homes, clinics, hydrotherapy and the child development centre. You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.We are a friendly, supportive team committed to providing high quality care. Your professional development will be supported by experienced band 7 physiotherapists who you will work closely with. You will be part of an in-service training programme and you will have opportunity to access external training.

Main duties of the job
  • You will hold your own caseload of children and be expected to manage this autonomously.
  • You will be expected to delegate effectively to Band 4 assistant practitioners to support the implementation of therapy treatment blocks.
  • You will assess for and issue postural equipment as clinically indicated this may include postural walkers, standing frames and sleep systems.
  • You will be involved in the use of national outcome measures e.g. CPIPS and expected to take the lead in this outcome measure when it is a patient on your caseload being assessed.

Qualifications
Essential
  • Degree/diploma in Physiotherapy by recognised awarding body e.g. Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites and for patient visits in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010

Desirable
  • Member of relevant clinical specialist interest group e.g. APCP

Knowledge
Essential
  • Knowledge of relevant disability, NHS and social care legislation including safeguarding
  • Knowledge and understanding of application of Physiotherapy to neurological and neurodevelopmental paediatric related conditions
  • Able to demonstrate required clinical knowledge of up to date childrens physiotherapy interventions and service issues
  • An understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people

Desirable
  • Working knowledge of Health and Social care roles, responsibilities, priorities and strategic direction.
  • Working knowledge of NHS policies and national agendas.

Registration
Essential
  • Registered with HCPC

Experience
Essential
  • Experience of successfully operating in and delivering priorities in a partnership environment
