Job summaryWe are looking to recruit a band 5 occupatonal therapist to our rotational scheme on a fixed term contract. Our rotations are based at both The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust sites including the following specialty areas: Stroke (hyper acute and acute rehabilitation), Frailty at the front door (ED and AMU), Cardiology, Endocrinology, Care of the Elderly, Respiratory, Orthopaedics and Surgery including amputees.

When joining our team you will be welcomed to attend our band 5 trust preceptorship programme and in-house training scheme, as well as receive learning specific to each rotational specialty area.
Throughout each rotation you will be supported by your named supervisor who will also be a specialist in your rotational clinical area. Your supervisor will enable you to develop skills to work independently as well as alongside other therapy and MDT colleagues.

Hospital Transformation Programme (HTP)Our Service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of HTP. This move will bring specialist services together in a modern, purpose-built facility to improve patient care and team experience.
We are actively recruiting, and successful candidates will be expected to move with the Service in early 2028. The relocation will follow a formal management of change process, including full consultation and support for staff.

Person SpecificationQualificationEssential- Degree or Pending qualification in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered or pending HCPC registration
Desirable- additional CPD activities relevant to the role
Work experienceEssential- Broad range of student placements or postgraduate experience
Desirable- Experience working within the NHS acute environment
SkillsEssential- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant IT Skills
Desirable- Participation in audit or service development projects
