This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in providing specialist support to patients requiring fertility preservation while working collaboratively across the wider reproductive medicine service. The successful candidate will combine excellent clinical skills with compassion, adaptability and strong organisational abilities to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. You will work alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, contribute to service development, and help ensure patients receive timely access to treatment and support.
This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise, expand leadership skills and make a meaningful difference to patient outcomes within a progressive and innovative service.
Main duties of the jobAs a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Fertility Preservation, you will provide expert nursing care and support to patients referred for fertility preservation, ensuring they receive timely, compassionate and individualised care throughout their treatment journey. You will act as a key point of contact for patients and families, delivering specialist information, coordinating complex pathways and facilitating rapid access to treatment.
Working closely with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will support seamless care across fertility preservation and reproductive medicine services. The role requires excellent communication, organisational and clinical decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance activities, whilst supporting education and training initiatives within the department. The successful candidate will be patient-focused, adaptable and proactive, with a commitment to delivering high standards of care and improving the experience and outcomes of patients accessing fertility preservation and reproductive medicine services.

- Ability to support and reassure patients/carers in distress in the clinical setting and over the telephone.

- Ability to cover the service within the team in a flexible positive approach so that leave will not adversely affect patient care and discharge of patients.
