An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist with a special interest in Adolescent Rehabilitation to join the established Treatment of Adolescents with Complex Conditions Service (TRACCS). The post holder will be responsible for providing a high level occupational therapy service to TRACCS patients, typically for conditions such as ME/CFS and Functional Disorders in an inpatient, day care, and outpatient setting. Alongside this there will be a responsibility to provide a service to the much smaller percentage of acute inpatients.
The post will involve highly collaborative working with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and effective liaison across health, social care and education sectors ensuring the delivery of a consistent approach. The successful candidate will be expected to carry a specialist caseload, carrying out highly specialised assessment and treatment.
The post-holder will be one of six therapists integrated into the Paediatric and Adolescent Division within UCLH NHS Trust and will be supported by the Therapy Service Lead.
Adolescent panel interviews will commence online will be on 07/09/2026 from 4pm and the main face to face panel interviews will be on 08/09/2026 afternoon on site.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be a dynamic and motivated Occupational Therapist who can provide effective therapy input in a creative, thoughtful and reflective manner, demonstrating leadership qualities, high level communication skills and a cooperative approach when working in this challenging field. Applicants will need experience providing rehabilitation to patients with complex long-term physical needs. They will need advanced clinical reasoning skills in the rehabilitation of patients with chronic conditions and complex needs and a keen interest in working with adolescents (experience desirable but not essential)

- Excellent written/spoken English
- HCPC registration in Occupational Therapy
Desirable- Member of a special interest group
- Post graduate qualification in relevant subject
ExperienceEssential- Minimum 4-5 years post registration experience
- Experience of rehabilitation of patients with complex long-term physical needs.
- NHS experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Awareness of current evidence pertaining to rehabilitation for patients with ME/CFS, Post Covid and Functional Disorders
- Previous experience of supervision and clinical education of a broad range of clinicians and students.
