Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Paediatric ENT Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in a newly developed and evolving role. As part of our team, you will play a key role in shaping and developing the service, driving innovation, and leading service improvements to enhance the experience and outcomes of children and young people requiring ENT care.

Job responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities will include working closely with the Paediatric ENT Consultant team and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will provide expert clinical leadership, coordination of care, and specialist support for patients and their families across the care pathway. You will act as a key resource for colleagues, patients, and carers, helping to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care is delivered consistently.

The post offers an exciting opportunity to influence service development, implement new ways of working, and contribute to improving patient outcomes and experiences. You will collaborate with a wide range of professionals across the organisation, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care.

The Paediatric ENT CNS will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team and will report to the relevant Matron, while maintaining strong professional relationships with the Paediatric ENT Consultant team and wider clinical services. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse who is passionate about innovation, service development, and improving care for children and young people.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential

• Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC register
• Level 7 Post Grad Cert (Min 60 Credits), Master's Degree within relevant speciality or equivalent knowledge to be assessed through evidence of relevant speciality training, experience or portfolio
• Specialist training / Qualification in area of practice
• Provide evidence of leading learning in practice
• Evidence of experience and completion of all band 6 competencies within relevant speciality
• Specialist clinical skills and experience within specialist area
• Evidence of change Management, leadership and innovation
• Clinical experience at Band 6 or equivalent within relevant speciality
• Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote learning in practice providing an excellent learning environment for all
• Provide evidence of supporting / managing and supervision of a range of learnings in practice

Desirable

• Counselling / advanced communication skills qualification / training
• Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners / supporting challenges as needed
• Multidisciplinary team working
• Experience of nurse-led care / clinics in own practice
• Team leadership role
• Awareness of own leadership skills/style
• Registered as an independent prescriber
