Job SummaryWe are looking for enthusiastic colleagues to join our Acute & General Medicine team at Good Hope Hospital commencing in August 2026. This is a fixed term post commencing from August 2024. The duration of the post is 12 months with a view to extending to 24 months subject to satisfactory performance. Within UHB Trust we also provide opportunities to obtain CESR accreditation (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration).
Main Duties of the Job- Daily ward rounds of Medical Inpatients with Consultant support working 0800-1600 Monday to Friday

- GIM On call rota commitments- Twilights shifts and weekends for admissions and ward cover

Job ResponsibilitiesThis post requires the post holder to work at a level equivalent to IMT2/3 depending on level of previous experience. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to complete required competencies for entry into speciality training at ST4. The post provides opportunities to complete 6 month rotational placements within Acute Medicine, Health Care for Older People & Intensive Care Medicine. There are opportunities for further optional placements in Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Diabetes & Endocrinology. The role includes participation on the general medical on call rota including twilight shifts and weekends.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Medical Degree from a recognised University
- Full GMC registration
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK
- MRCP- Part 1 completed
ExperienceEssential- A minimum of 3 years full time post graduate training (its equivalent gained on a part time basis) or equivalent experience and competencies.
- A minimum of 24 months medical experience within NHS by start date
