Job Summary- Perform full range of imaging examinations in MRI across sites consistently to a high standard ensuring compliance with imaging protocols.
- Manage radiographic, technical, admin & clerical staff and students, within a designated area.
- Liaise with other staff, and to be responsible for the day to day organisation of the area/department in accordance with departmental protocols, providing management guidance during the absence of the Lead Radiographer.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.Main Duties of the Job- To perform MR imaging in line with governmental and departmental protocols, working both alone and within multidisciplinary teams.
- To check patient identification and documentation and ensure the appropriate MRI examinations are carried out in accordance with departmental protocols and clinical requests, especially implementing departmental safety protocols.
- Operating static scanners assessing patients' needs adapt and modify imaging techniques according to the patient condition. Attending to patients` welfare and safety at all times.
- To evaluate scanned images taken for diagnostic quality, and alert clinicians of any abnormality when appropriate.
- To participate in the departmental Quality assurance programme to ensure the efficient operation of the highly technical equipment and to ensure compliance with best practice.

Desirable- Post graduate training/ Certification in specialist Modality
ExperienceEssential- Substantial post graduate experience in radiography
- Range of MRI experience in and out of hours
Desirable- Experience in specialised modality.
- Experience of leading teams
KnowledgeEssential- Knowledge of patient pathways, and the key role of diagnostic imaging.
- Knowledge of evaluation criteria for image analysis
Desirable- Able to manage own workload and able to take the lead in small teams.
SkillsEssential- Flexible approach.
- Able to manipulate and move patients to obtain images whilst adhering to H&S legislation.
- Good IT skills.
- Ability to justify CT examinations and select appropriate examinations and protocols to show pathology.
Desirable- Evaluation of performance, evidence of reflective practice and self-development.
