Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UHD Breast Cancer Specialist Nursing Teams. We have two new posts available for full time and part time roles to cover the patients with primary breast cancer. The successful applicants will work alongside the current Breast Cancer CNS/ACP Teams across Poole and Bournemouth.
The role of this CNS is to support patients and their families throughout the adjuvant breast Pathway. This includes ensuring timeliness of investigations and appointments through the pathway with awareness of Cancer Waiting Time Targets, present at Breaking Bad News, offering support and information regarding diagnosis and treatment, being the patients advocate and advising on symptom management.
A large part of this role is to support and help coordinate the introduction of Ribociclib for adjuvant treatment for HR positive, HER2 negative early breast cancer in adults as recommended by NICE.
This Role includes working closely with members of the Breast Multidisciplinary Team, Primary and Tertiary Care as well as being able to work autonomously
We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse who is keen to make a difference in the care of those experiencing a life changing diagnosis. As there is a significant Oncology component to the post, previous experience in these areas is desirable. This role requires a nurse who is highly organised, motivated to learn, with excellent communication and team working skills.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- NMC Registered Nurse [RGN]
- Degree in nursing
- Post reg specialist qualification
Desirable- Completion of UKONS SACT passport and evidence of SACT competency
Knowledge and experienceEssential- Demonstrable breast/Oncology/ Symptom Control Knowledge
- Conversant with developments in Oncology at National and Local levels
- Experience working within oncology
- experience with SACT /radiotherapy treatments
