The Cardiac Physiology department at University Hospitals Dorset is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our enthusiastic and dedicated team.

The Cardiac Physiology Support Officer will play a key role in supporting the specialist Cardiac Rhythm Management Physiologists to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the remote monitoring service for Cardiac device patients. This service offers high quality patient care by enabling the early detection, and management, of device and rhythm issues.

The Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital are both situated in the beautiful county of Dorset and are perfectly positioned between miles of golden sandy beaches and the picturesque New Forest National Park. Main duties of the job
The post holder will co-ordinate all aspects of the remote monitoring systems for cardiac device patients, supporting the smooth delivery of a responsive and reliable remote monitoring follow up service.

The role will involve a wide range of tasks, including:

• Recruiting new patients to remote monitoring platforms
• Setting up monitors with patients
• Assisting patients with ongoing monitor management, by providing education and support
• First point of contact for patients with monitoring concerns and enquiries
• Troubleshooting transmission issues, ensuring that downloads have been received in a timely fashion
• Managing the administrative side of the 5 remote monitoring platforms
• Managing virtual clinics for disconnected patients, with clear and accurate documentation of actions and communications

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

• GCSEs (or equivalent), including Math and English, or Level 2 literacy and numeracy, or equivalent

Desirable

• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject

Experience
Essential

• Previous experience of working with and communicating with patients
• Attention to detail - handling patient data, maintaining data quality, recognising abnormalities/error and escalating appropriately
• Excellent communication skills with patients and MDT

Desirable

• Previous NHS experience
• Previous Cardiology / cardiac device exposure
• Previous clinical support experience
• Previous admin/office experience

Technical skills
Essential

• Competence in using Microsoft Office
• Technical problem solving skills

Desirable

• Knowledge of hospital IT systems
• Knowledge of remote monitoring devices and platforms
