Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-motivated registered Pharmacy Technician with excellent dispensing and communication skills to join our friendly pharmacy team as a Dispensary Pharmacy Technician.

This opportunity will involve working on a rotational basis across the Bournemouth and Poole hospital sites.

Upon successfully gaining 1 year's hospital experience, and accuracy checking qualification the post holder will progress to Band 5.

This post is suitable for:

• Qualified Accuracy Checking Technicians who would like to specialise in the dispensary
• Community-based Pharmacy Technicians looking for a career change
• Pharmacy Technicians who are looking to develop their skills and would welcome the opportunity to train to become an Accuracy Checking Technician

You should be able to work as part of a team but also have the ability to work flexibly and independently in a professional manner.

Main duties of the job
You will be expected to participate in our weekend, bank holiday and late night rotas.

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Please note all staff being recruited are expected to be available to work flexibly across our new Trust sites when service demands require it.

This role requires registration to The General Pharmaceutical Council

Qualifications
Essential

• Registered to practice as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science

Desirable

• Final Accuracy Checking course

Experience
Essential

• Regular patient contact
• Working in primary or secondary care

Technical Skills
Essential

• Basic IT and keyboard skills
• Experience of training others
• Neat, accurate and numerate

Desirable

• Previous Wellsky experience
