Westmorland General Hospital is looking to expand its Clinical Site Management team. This job is mainly nights - will rotate onto days occasionally to keep skills up to date. It will provide a fantastic opportunity for an individual to work closely with all divisions to ensure potential breaches of the 4 hour operational standard, upholding the trust position of 'Zero tolerance' for non clinical reasons done in line with the trusts Nursing and Midwifery strategy and will play a fundamental role in the division vision for consistent delivery of safe and high quality care in a timely manner.
Main duties of the jobYou will be required to have a good understanding of both patient flow and site management and will have the clinical expertise to safely expedite discharges whilst ensuring that the clinical areas are supported on a 24 hour basis.The CSM holds a high level of decision making authority and will be the first point of contact for all external enquiries, near misses and serious untoward incidents.You will bring enthusiasm, energy and utilising lateral thinking skills when required.The post requires demonstrable high level of clinical acumen in order to support fellow clinicians and support services in a hospital setting alongside evidence of ability to think on your feet. manage. About usWe operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our Community Service for adults are provided in people's homes ,community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent , improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care , advice and support.
