Job summary
An exciting opportunity has emerged to join the dynamic senior nursing team at the Royal Stoke Emergency Department. We are recruiting for a secondment opportunity.This is an ideal pathway for nurses aspiring to step into management roles, supported by a passionate and experienced leadership team committed to fostering a positive environment for both staff and patients. Main duties of the job
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individuals to join our experienced Senior Nursing Team within the Emergency Department. The successful applicants will work closely with a Band 7 Senior Sister to deliver high standards of patient care and provide robust support to staff across the unit.This role offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

You will be expected to:
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, motivation, and enthusiasm
  • Take on managerial responsibility for a number of staff within the nursing team
  • Lead nurse-led care on a shift-by-shift basis
  • Deliver gold-standard nursing practice across a diverse emergency caseload
  • Act as a role model, leading by example in all areas of clinical practice
  • Take charge in the absence of other senior staff
  • Manage and respond to complaints and Datix reports professionally
  • Champion specific areas of departmental interest to support ongoing service development

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
Essential
  • Has an NMC registration
  • Has undertaken a course in trauma nursing
  • Has undertaken an academic nursing qualification at least level 6

Desirable
  • Has actively participated in an improvement within the department
  • Has completed datix responses
  • Has undertaken an academic nursing qualification at least level 7

Experience
Essential
  • Considerable post PIN experience in a large Emergency Department
  • Senior nurse experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Is competent in all areas of emergency nursing
