Job summaryThe Radiotherapy Service Manager is a senior member of the Directorate Management Team, responsible for the operational leadership and professional oversight of the Radiotherapy Department.
The post holder will ensure the delivery of a safe, high-quality and effective radiotherapy service, compliant with national standards, regulatory requirements and cancer access targets. They will lead on service development, workforce management, and financial oversight, whilst ensuring compliance with IR(ME)R and IRR.
Main duties of the jobThe Radiotherapy Service Manager will provide operational and professional leadership for the radiotherapy service, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality patient care in line with national standards and regulatory requirements. The post holder is responsible for service performance, workforce management, budget and resource control, and the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and service improvements.

Person SpecificationEssential- oBSc in Radiotherapy studies or equivalent DCRT
- oPost graduate qualification at 'M' level or working toward.
Desirable- oQuality Improvement qualification - Improving together level 1-3 or external equivalent. Eg LCS lavel 1a
- oManagement qualification/ Willing to work towards management qualification
knowledge & SkillsEssential- oSpecialist expert radiotherapy knowledge applied to the NHS agenda for Cancer
- oExperience of financial management and business planning
- Ability to work autonomously and be accountable for own actions
Desirable- oInterest in strategic planning/ development within the Trust and at regional and national forums
