Job summaryThe Pharmacy EPMA team are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacist to join the team on a fixed term secondment until 31st March 2027 to support with the development, testing, implementation and evaluation of ePMA for outpatient and paediatric services at UHNM, following the successful roll out of ePMA across adult inpatient areas.
The role will provide specialist clinical pharmacy input into system configuration, drug file and protocol development, workflow design, safety review, training, clinical engagement, implementation planning and post-go-live optimisation. The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical, pharmacy, nursing, operational, ICT and supplier colleagues to ensure that outpatient and paediatric ePMA workflows are safe, practical, clinically appropriate and aligned with Trust medicines governance requirements.
The post holder will support benefits realisation, reporting, audit and issue resolution associated with the outpatient and paediatric ePMA roll out, while continuing to model the Trust values of

Main duties of the job- Support the development, implementation, testing and evaluation of ePMA for outpatient and paediatric services at UHNM.
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy input into drug file configuration, protocols, decision support tools, paediatric-specific prescribing requirements and outpatient prescribing workflows.
- Support the review and redesign of medicines-related processes required for outpatient and paediatric ePMA roll out, ensuring that processes are safe, efficient and operationally deliverable.
- Assist with the design, delivery and evaluation of training resources for prescribers, pharmacists, technicians, nurses and other ePMA system users.
- Contribute to benefits realisation, readiness assessment, risk review, audit, reporting and lessons learned activity linked to the roll out.
- Actively contribute ideas to improve ePMA functionality, user experience, medicines safety and pharmacy operational processes.

Essential QualificationsEssential- Masters degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent

- Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma / MSc or equivalent qualification - Bnand 8A
- Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate and working towards completion of the Diploma - Band 7

Knowledge, Skills, Training and ExperienceEssential- Must have extensive experience of using CMM EPMA in multiple areas within UHNM.
- Must be confident with digital systems and ideally proven experience of supporting others with use of digital systems - ideally EPMA.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Methodical with effective organisational skills in the workplace.
- Ability to supervise the work of junior staff and provide constructive feedback on performance.
- Broad understanding of current hospital pharmacy practice.
- Comprehensive experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner including a solid grounding in a broad range of clinical specialties - Band 7
- Extensive hospital pharmacy experience post Diploma
- Broad and recent clinical pharmacy experience and knowledge of therapeutics
- Enthusiasm to develop specialisation in digital medicines optimisation, clinical informatics and ePMA.
- Experience of multidisciplinary and/or collaborative working.
Desirable- Knowledge of drug nomenclature e.g. DM+D and an appreciation of its application to clinical systems
- Experience of writing / updating procedures and training documentation

- Previous experiences of Child health pharmacy.
