Main Duties of the Job
Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient and compassionate phlebotomy service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain patient consent for the collection of blood samples.
• Perform venepuncture in accordance with local policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records using SystmOne.
• Ensure the correct labelling, packaging and storage of samples for transportation to the laboratory.
• Work collaboratively within the wider practice team.
• Recognise and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately.
• Act as a chaperone when required.

In addition to the above responsibilities, you may be required to:

• Participate in audits, meetings and training.
• Participate in local initiatives and research to enhance service delivery and patient care.
• Support and participate in shared learning within the practice.
• Complete opening and closing procedures in line with practice protocols.
• Maintain stock levels within clinical rooms.
• Support infection prevention and control procedures.
• Promote patient wellbeing and provide opportunistic health advice where appropriate.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
