Main duties of the jobWorking closely with the GP Partners and fellow Directors, you will provide strategic clinical leadership across the organisation, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality and patient-centred care. You will lead clinical quality, governance and innovation, support multidisciplinary teams, champion continuous improvement and help shape the future direction of our clinical services.

Job responsibilities- The Director of Clinical Services is the executive lead for the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the practice's clinical operating model. The postholder leads the multidisciplinary clinical workforce, patient access, long-term condition services, quality improvement and clinical transformation. Medicines optimisation remains the responsibility of the Director of Medicines & Governance, with whom this role works closely.
- Clinical Leadership - Lead clinical services across all sites. Develop the clinical operating model. Promote evidence-based, patient-centred care. Drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Clinical Operations - Lead day-to-day clinical operations. Manage clinical team leaders. Ensure effective workforce deployment. Coordinate services across all sites.
- Patient Access and Service Delivery - Lead triage and same-day access. Oversee clinic templates and appointment systems. Improve continuity of care.
- Long-Term Conditions and Population Health - Lead LTC services and recall systems. Support QOF and enhanced services. Improve population health management.
- Clinical Workforce - Lead workforce planning and development. Support supervision and succession planning. Promote staff wellbeing.
- Quality, Governance and Patient Safety - Lead quality improvement. Support CQC readiness. Oversee patient safety and incident learning. Work alongside the Director of Medicines & Governance on shared governance priorities.
- Performance and Transformation - Monitor KPIs. Lead clinical transformation. Use data to improve outcomes and efficiency.
- External Representation - Represent the practice across the PCN, ICB and wider NHS.
Person SpecificationProfessional RegistrationEssential- Current professional registration (GMC, NMC or HCPC as appropriate).
ExperienceEssential- Senior clinical leadership experience in primary care.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of NHS primary care, CQC and QOF.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Desirable- Experience of service redesign and transformation.
QualificationsDesirable- Postgraduate or leadership qualification.
