Job SummaryJoin West London NHS Trust as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Dementia & Cognitive Health within the Older People's Mental Health Service in Ealing. This exciting new post offers the opportunity to lead and shape a high-performing Cognitive Impairment and Dementia Service (CIDS), delivering high-quality, person-centred care to a diverse population. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, contribute to ongoing service transformation, and engage in teaching, research, and quality improvement. This role is ideal for a motivated clinician with vision and leadership skills who is committed to improving outcomes for patients with dementia and addressing health inequalities.
Main Duties of the Job- Provide senior clinical leadership in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with dementia, cognitive impairment and functional illness in older adults.
- Lead on complex case discussions and deliver evidence-based care in line with NICE guidance.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and across services to ensure seamless, integrated care pathways.
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit.
- Supervise and support junior doctors, trainees, and other professionals, and contribute to teaching programmes.
- Participate in the consultant on-call rota and fulfil Responsible Clinician duties where required.
- Maintain high standards of professional practice including appraisal, CPD, and GMC revalidation.
