We have an exciting opportunity to join our St Helen's North 0-19 team as a Public Health Nurse, supporting the delivery of a public health offer to children and young people and delivering the Healthy Child Programme core offer. T. The public health nurse role gives a great insight to our service and has supported employees to develop into other roles associated with public health and 0-19 services. We have great feedback from students and staff who enjoy working within a friendly and supportive team.
Main duties of the job- Supporting the 0-19 service to deliver the public health offer in St Helen's.
- Managing a safeguarding caseload, including completing health assessments, contributing to multi-agency meetings and completing reports.
- Delegation and work planning/organisation
- Facilitating clinics across St Helen's

We have daily safety huddles to support staff at the beginning of each day and monthly team meetings.
Supervision is available to all staff both planned and reactive.
We work closely with our specialist Safeguarding nurses to ensure staff feel supported and have access to appropriate training and induction

Job responsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work as part of the 0-19 service, delivering public health offer across St Helen's.
The role also includes providing leadership to junior colleagues and new starters, organising/ work planning and delegation and chairing and attending meetings.
Person SpecificationQualifications and Professional TrainingEssential- RN (Adult or Child/RSCN) or RM
Desirable- Mentorship
- Motivational Interviewing
Experience and KnowledgeEssential- Working within the 0-19 Team and evidence of managing a school nursing caseload
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding issues
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Ability to use email, internet and word processing software.
Desirable- Delivering public health sessions in schools
Skills and AttributesEssential- Good verbal and non-verbal and written communication skills.
