Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our Band 6 rotational programme at Scarborough General Hospital. This post offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills across Surgery, Critical Care and Medicine whilst working within a supportive and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team.
This rotational role is ideal for a physiotherapist looking to broaden their acute clinical experience, enhance leadership and supervision skills, and develop expertise in the management of complex patients across a range of specialties.
Main duties of the job- To work collaboratively as part of the team to support the delivery of high-quality therapy services across critical care and surgical caseloads, working closely with the senior leadership team.
- To provide specialist guidance and advice to therapy staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- To use patient-centred approaches to patient care.
- To participate in and provide clinical and management supervision.
- To contribute to multi-disciplinary team working.
- To contribute to and lead on service improvement and quality initiatives.
- To contribute to educational teaching programmes for Respiratory on-call training.
- To use the Trust electronic patient record system.
- To abide by all Trust policies and procedures.
- To be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.

Person SpecificationEducation, Qualifications & TrainingEssential- Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
- Evidence of post graduate training within specialist area
Desirable- Practice placement supervisor qualification
Experience & Knowledge RequiredEssential- Experience of working in relevant junior role within surgical and critical care or high dependency units, including the management of a range of conditions evidenced through acquisition of knowledge through training and supervision
- Developed/specialist clinical skills within relevant area
- Evidence of ability to manage complex clinical presentations.
- Experience in assessment and provision of specialist equipment
- Delivery of relevant audit/service evaluation or research projects
- Understanding of current issues in health care
- Standards of Professional Practice
Desirable- Experience of working in a client-driven/NHS environment
- Experience in the use of outcome measures to evaluate clinical treatment
- Experience of training/supporting others (including students) within specialist clinical area
