Main duties of the job
This is an opportunity for a band 6 physiotherapist to make a real difference to people living with dementia and complex, enduring mental health conditions within Northumberland.

You will be a skilled and knowledgeable team player who is able to think holistically and creatively to deliver specialist assessment and management and physiotherapy service provision for service users who have a variety of complex physiotherapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health, alongside our multi-disciplinary team.

Alongside the clinical leads and other colleagues, you will contribute to the service development and implementation of evidence-based core pathways across community services whilst contributing to the inpatient team from this perspective. Using research, innovation, and quality improvement.

Person Specification
  • Qualifications and membership
    • Essential
      • Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
      • HCPC Registered
      • Further relevant post qualifying training.
    • Desirable
      • Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Knowledge and Experience
    • Essential
      • Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and CSP standards and other local and national initiatives
      • Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
      • Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and CSP standards and other local and national initiatives.
      • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
      • Experience of providing Physiotherapy services.
    • Desirable
      • Clinical experience relevant to this role
      • Knowledge of involving service users/ carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services
      • Knowledge of audit, research and evaluation
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Essential
      • Skills in a range of appropriate standardised and informal assessments
      • Highly developed communication skills
      • Proven ability to communicate effectively within multi-agency teams
      • Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions
      • Ability to use IT systems
      • Risk Assessment/management skills
    • Desirable
      • Clinical Leadership. Training & Induction of staff.
