We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated practice nurse to join our dynamic clinical team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working as a nurse in Primary Care.

Main Duties of the Job

Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
Cervical Smears/Cytology
Long-term conditions reviews (e.g. diabetic checks, asthma checks, care planning, non-diabetic hyperglycaemia checks)
Routine immunisations (e.g. shingles, pneumococcal, flu)
Childhood vaccinations
Contraception / pill checks
Wound care / ulcer care / Removal of Sutures/Doppler
New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
Travel vaccinations (desirable)
ECGs
Asthma/Peak Flow Readings(desirable)
Venepuncture/Phlebotomy
Hypertension Management
Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
