We are seeking a highly motivated radiographer with a strong clinical background and a commitment to teaching and learning at the heart of their practice. This role focuses primarily on practice education, supporting existing radiographers, trainee assistant practitioners and clinical students.

You will possess DCR (R) or BSc Radiography with current HCPC registration and have significant post qualification experience at B6 or above.

Our Medical Imaging Department operates at the main Trust site and at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).

Main duties of the job
As the Practice Educator in plain film, you will be a role model and leader for all staff groups, demonstrating a professional and proactive approach in clinical practice. You will provide expert advice, guidance, and support to staff at all levels, helping them develop confidence and competence in plain film imaging.

Working collaboratively with senior clinical colleagues, you will actively participate in service improvement initiatives by facilitating understanding of evidence-based practice and management principles. You will support colleagues in their roles as educators and mentors, applying your specialist knowledge across a variety of clinical and educational settings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership in the development and delivery of education programmes for radiographers, trainee assistant practitioners, and clinical students.
• Acting as a clinical and educational leader by offering high-quality mentorship and support to enhance staff development and clinical confidence.
• Driving positive change with creative and focused strategies aligned to organisational priorities for practice development.
• Ensuring that patient-centred care remains central to all clinical activities.
• Collaborating closely with the Band 7 leadership team and Modality Leads to support wellbeing and fostering a positive and productive working environment.

• Proven ability to work effectively trust wide.
• Competent clinical skills and knowledge across all areas of plain film imaging.
• Clinical credibility and understanding of clinical priorities.
• Plain film competencies.
• Evidence of innovation change management and facilitation techniques and approaches.
• Recent involvement of commissioning education at a pre or post level education.

• Leadership course (Local or nationally accredited).

• Registered Radiographer- Valid HCPC Registration.
• Post holder will have an Masters level qualification or be willing to work towards this qualification, enrolling within 1 year of appointment.

• Commitment to and evidence of professional development.
• Role specific national train the trainer qualification.

Desirable

• Accreditation with College of Radiographers Practice Educator Accreditation Scheme.
