Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust Group, is looking for a motivated Trust Grade Foundation Year 2 doctor (or equivalent level) in Infectious Diseases (ID) & Acute Medicine on a 1-year fixed term contract, with option to extend.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to gain a breadth of clinical experience in managing complex infection and also general medicine, working in the varied and interesting ID ward at Whipps Cross Hospital. The post also involves evening and weekend work on the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) out-of-hours rota, with the opportunity to gain experience across the breadth of Acute Medicine.

The successful candidates will have full GMC registration with licence to practice and will have completed Foundation Year 1 (or equivalent).

Person SpecificationQualifications and KnowledgeEssential- Must hold MBChB, MBBS or equivalent degree
- Must hold full GMC Registration with license to practice
Desirable- Current ALS certification
ExperienceEssential- Must have clinical experience at completion of FY1 level (or equivalent)
- Must have previous NHS experience
- Must have general internal medicine (GIM) experience
Desirable- Experience teaching medical and/or nursing colleagues.
- Evidence of participation in research projects
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit and/or quality improvement
SkillsEssential- Evidence of effective written communication skills in English
OtherDesirable- Experience working under pressure
- Demonstrates problem solving skill
