Job summary
The ENT department at Royal London is seeking a full time Senior Clinical Fellow in ENT (40 hours per week) from 23 November 2026. This post CCT fellowship is aimed at clinicians with substantial ENT experience who are approaching or completed CCT (or equivalent) and wish to further develop advanced clinical and surgical skills within a high performing department.

The role includes a mix of theatre, clinics and middle grade emergency cover, with a 1 in 8 hot week leading daily ward rounds and managing emergency cases, plus 1 in 8 out of hours on call. A personalised timetable will be provided for non hot weeks.

Initial appointment is for 6 months, extendable to 12 months subject to satisfactory performance.

Job responsibilities
The ENT service at the Royal London provides a comprehensive range of emergency and elective services to the local community in addition to acting as a referral centre for more complex procedures and tertiary referrals. The service has excellent links with Audiology, Speech and Language Therapy and Oncology. Advanced facilities and expertise are available including head and neck surgery, including robotics, facial plastics and rhinology, voice clinics, paediatric ENT including complex airway and otology.

Qualifications
Essential

• DOHNS/MRCS
• FRCS (ORL-HNS)
• Within 1 year or post CCT

Registration
Essential

• GMC registered Medical Practitioner

Knowledge and Expertise
Essential

• I.T. skills and computer literacy
• NHS experience >6 months
• Completion of Core and higher surgical training or equivalent
• Previous ENT middle grade experience
• Broad based training in ENT and its subspecialties
• Broad based general professional training in general medicine
• Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems

Clinical Skills
Essential

• Emergency safe to a day 1 consultant
• Able to provide safe ENT emergency care out of hours
• Able to see and manage patients independently in clinic
• Ability to work as an effective member of multidisciplinary team

• Ability to perform various ENT surgeries

• Experience of teaching medical undergraduates and junior staff

• Evidence of previously organising a course
