Job summaryBerkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust has an exciting vacancy for a part time staff nurse to join the West Berkshire health visiting team.
We are looking for a highly organised, motivated staff nurse to join the team to support the health visiting service in West Berkshire. The team are responsible for providing a service to children and their families aged 0-5 that live within the West Berkshire boundary.
The ideal candidate will have good organisational, IT and communication skills with a passion for the health and well-being of children aged 0-5 years and their families.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a supportive and friendly team where they will be supported to develop in their role.
You must be a driver and have use of a car.
Main duties of the job- Work with the HV team to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with a focus on 6-8 week postnatal contacts.
- Provide support to families in a range of community settings under the direction of the Health Visitor, considering the diverse needs of the community.
- Plan and deliver health-enhancing activities for children and families through groups, child health clinics, developmental review clinics and individual support.
- Support families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parenting skills and programmes of care for vulnerable families.
- Support breastfeeding and parent infant relationships in line with the Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
- Support the text-based Chat Health service, offering health advice to parents.
- Maintain knowledge of local safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Work in partnership with Children's Centres, Early Years settings and other agencies to provide integrated support and promote the health and wellbeing of children and families.
- Fulfil professional responsibilities within the team under the direction of the Health Visitor.
- Act as a practice supervisor for pre-registration nursing students, new staff and placement students, providing a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in clinical, management and child protection supervision.
- Provide evidence-based care, support the development of others' practice, contribute to teaching and training, and work within the staff nurse competency framework.
