Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Chest Radiologist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality radiology service within a busy imaging department as part of the chest radiology team.

The successful candidate will join a team of 34 other Consultant Radiologists in Bradford. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A FIXED TERM LOCUM DUE TO END 31/08/27.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute services for the City of Bradford and surrounding areas, and has two large Hospitals; Bradford Royal Infirmary and St. Luke's Hospital and is also part of the Eccleshill Diagnostic Centre. Main duties of the job
There are currently 20 trainees appointed to Bradford at any one time. Radiologists are expected to mentor as Clinical Supervisors and are encouraged to take on Educational Trainees following appropriate training. There is a responsibility to undertake appropriate teaching of health care professionals within the Trust. Undergraduate medical students from Leeds have clinical attachments within the Trust and Radiology Department.

The post-holder is managerially accountable to the Clinical Director of the Clinical Service Unit in the first instance and professionally accountable to the Chief Medical Officer at BTHFT. The CSU leadership team comprises the Clinical Director, General Manager, Workforce Lead and Nurse Matron, supported by Administrative Managers and Modality Superintendent Radiographers.

The appointee will work closely with two colleagues (one of which is partially retired and part-time) with special interests in chest imaging, the Respiratory team and the Lung Cancer MDT and team. Specialist activities will include all chest CT and US Interventions.

Job responsibilities
In addition to specialist Chest/Thoracic service, the appointee will support:

Specialty: The radiologist will join their specialty colleagues to report from the specialty reporting basket in PACS (AGFA EI) as well as acute reporting baskets. They will prepare and attend Specialty MDTs and clinical meetings and will be expected to be available to respond to specialist queries. They will have CT and US intervention sessions and must be able to perform all aspects of chest interventions, such as chest drainage and lung biopsies.

General Acute service: Radiologists are expected to contribute to the weekly rota to provide Duty Radiologist or Inpatient CT or MR hot reporting. They are expected to check overnight on call reports and support trainees with acute general reporting.

Home working, home reporting and extended working days may be negotiable following review with the CSU lead with, depending on service requirements, up-to one non-working day or up-to one day working from home.

Training: The Radiology Department within the Bradford Trust forms part of the West Yorkshire Training Academy in Radiology with rotations of Specialist Registrars.

Trainees on the Scheme usually spend one or two six month periods in Bradford as part of their "basic training" and there are options for both General and Specialist attachments in Bradford during their "higher training".

• On GMC and continue to hold a licence to practice
