Pharmacy Team Co-OrdinatorJob summaryWe are inviting expressions of interest from our existing Pharmacy Team for the role of Pharmacy Team Co-ordinator.
This is an internal opportunity for a GPhC-registered Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician who is ready to take on additional responsibility in supporting the day-to-day coordination, supervision and organisation of the pharmacy team. The role will sit alongside the post holders existing pharmacy role, with protected time allocated to undertake Pharmacy Team Co-ordinator responsibilities (1 session spread over the post-holder's working days for FTE).
Working closely with the Director of Pharmacy and the Practice Manager, the post holder will help ensure the pharmacy service runs safely, consistently and efficiently.

Main duties of the jobThe Pharmacy Team Co-ordinator will support the safe, effective and efficient running of the Pharmacy Team. This is primarily an office-based co-ordination role within the pharmacy service, involving regular use of clinical systems, electronic records, prescribing workflows and medicines governance processes.
The post holder will help coordinate the daily workload of the team, allocating work appropriately, monitoring workflow throughout the day and supporting continuity of service during periods of pressure or staff absence.
They will act as a first point of contact for routine operational prescribing queries, supporting colleagues to resolve day-to-day issues and escalating complex, urgent or clinical matters to the Director of Pharmacy or an appropriate clinician.
Working alongside the Director of Pharmacy, the post holder will help coordinate medicines governance activity, including MHRA safety alerts, local medicines optimisation actions, prescribing audits, medication safety work and CQC evidence relating to medicines management.
The role will also involve supporting SOP compliance, contributing to service improvement, helping with induction and training, identifying resource pressures and promoting a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.

This internal opportunity has been created to strengthen the coordination of the Pharmacy Team and to support consistent ways of working across Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Prescription Clerks.
