Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in breast and hepatobiliary cancers.

The post is for a permanent (10 PA) Clinical Oncologist. The successful candidate will join established multidisciplinary teams within a supportive and collaborative environment, with opportunities to contribute to service development, teaching, and research within a highly regarded oncology service.

Main duties of the job
BHOC is one of the UK's leading comprehensive cancer centres, providing high-quality, patient-centred care across the South West. The centre brings together a wide range of specialist services including radiotherapy, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, systemic anti-cancer therapies, haematology, palliative care, clinical psychology, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and adolescent and young adult cancer services.

Qualifications & Training
Essential

• Full GMC registration
• MRCP or equivalent
• FRCR or equivalent
• Entry on the Specialist Register (or expected within 12 months)

Desirable

• MD or PhD

Experience

• Broad oncology background with specific skills as required in the agreed job description
• Ability to offer expert clinical opinion across a wide range of oncological situations both elective and emergency.
• Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients and be able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

• Specialist experience in Breast and HPB cancers

Knowledge & Skills
Essential

• Up to date knowledge and experience of relevant specialty
• Commitment to continuing medical education.
• Knowledge of NHS priorities with reference to specialty skills in oncology.

• Awareness of the requirements of clinical governance, with particular reference to the speciality.
• Experience in organising audit.
