Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1.0 WTE (37.5 hours per week) Band 5 Nurse to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. Applications from candidates seeking a job share arrangement will also be considered. The post holder will work alongside the Endocrine Clinical Nurse Specialist team and the wider multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of high-quality patient care, while helping to maintain clinical policies, nursing standards, and staff development.

Main duties of the job
This is a largely autonomous role, and following appropriate training, the post holder will independently coordinate and undertake dynamic endocrine function tests across multiple clinical areas on site, primarily within B501, 410 and A520, in accordance with service requirements.

A key aspect of the role involves supporting the Endocrine Clinical Nurse Specialists in the arrangement, provision, and completion of dynamic endocrine function testing. Following an appropriate period of training, the post holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of dynamic function tests independently, in accordance with established team protocols, whilst maintaining a safe clinical environment. The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring that test results are forwarded to the requesting clinician for interpretation in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate clinical procedures and supervise unqualified staff where appropriate, whilst promoting safe and effective practice. Excellent organisational and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to provide patients with clear information, support, and reassurance throughout their care.
