Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the department of haematology, oncology and bone marrow transplant (HOB) for a fixed term Band 7 Neuro-oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to cover 10 months maternity leave.

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills are essential and have extensive experience and knowledge within the field of Neuroscience.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an integral member of the Multidisciplinary Team within University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and across the community. The post holder will acknowledge and provide the overall responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families, in-patient and out-patient, throughout their care pathway. The post holder will engage and lead discussions in multidisciplinary team both locally and across the shared care network.

The post holder will utilise skills of clinical expertise, leadership, education and management to ensure a seamless service for patients, carers and staff. They will provide advice, support and information from the time of diagnosis and throughout care pathway.

They will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in hospital and the community to ensure a coordinated quality service and will be actively involved in education, audit and research aligned to local, regional and national cancer strategies.

Education & Qualification
Essential

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
• Degree or equivalent in Paediatric Nursing Paediatric
• Paediatric Neuroscience and Oncology qualification
• Master's degree or willingness to work towards
• Teaching qualification

• Leadership/Management qualification
