Job summary
Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is a specialised tertiary hospital, often taking the most complex referrals from both local and national centres, and a designated major trauma centre for the South West of England.

The successful candidate will provide highly specialist physiotherapy for children within neurosciences and the neuro-rehabilitation service at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

Within the Neuro-rehabilitation team Service the post-holder will assist in the development and delivery of the inpatient and outpatients as a member of the multidisciplinary team, and provide a source of expertise locally, nationally and internationally.

This post is fixed term to cover a secondment until 31st march 2027

Main duties of the job

• To take the lead therapy role in the management of the paediatric neurorehabilitation (NR) service alongside a multi-disciplinary team.
• Work within the paediatric NR team to deliver comprehensive and specialised assessments, and support in the post-operative management of children following surgery.
• Provide a highly specialised service that includes the assessment, treatment and management of children referred from neuro- rehabilitation assisting in the development, planning and progression of service provision.
• Act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the highly skilled management of children with complex neurological needs from ABI/SCI.
• To provide specialist advice to other members of the multi-disciplinary team and to provide clinical education and training to others within the Trust and externally.
• Be an active member of the weekend on-call service, undertaking assessment and treatment of acutely ill children.

Essential

• Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy
• Registration with HCPC
• Evidence of relevant post graduate continued professional development

• Proven experience of clinical audit, data collection and research
