Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician to help shape the future of healthcare across one of London's largest community healthcare providers.

Working closely with the Chief Information Officer and clinical leaders across the Trust, you will help ensure digital technology, data, innovation and artificial intelligence are used safely and effectively to improve patient outcomes, staff experience and service delivery.

As a clinical digital leader, you will connect clinical practice with digital transformation, ensuring the needs of patients and frontline staff inform our approach. You will contribute to the Trust's digital strategy, champion innovation and support transformational programmes that enable safer, more effective and integrated care including as the Trust Clinical safety Officer.

Main duties of the job
You will:
  • Provide clinical leadership across digital transformation, ensuring patient and staff perspectives inform digital initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Trust's digital strategy and support the adoption of innovative technologies.
  • Lead and support transformational programmes that improve safety, effectiveness, integration and experience of care.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, digital and operational leaders to translate clinical needs into effective digital solutions.
  • Act as the Trust's Clinical Safety Officer (CSO), providing expert leadership and assurance on the safe design, implementation and use of digital systems and technologies.
  • Apply your experience in clinical governance, risk management and leading change to support innovation while maintaining high standards of patient safety.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
Essential
  • Educated to master's level or equivalent level of experience and training.
  • Registered healthcare professional (Nurse or AHP) or Dr registered with the GMC
  • NHS Digital - Clinical Risk Management training on safety standards, SCCI0129 and SCCI0160 (e-learning +/- foundation course)

Desirable
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner / Agile Practitioner (or equivalent project management methodology)
  • Master's level degree in either informatics, business analysis or process re-engineering, or equivalent (or relevant experience)

Experience
Essential
  • Experience of being able to balance competing priorities and meet personal and informatics targets within a fluctuating and demanding workload. Experience in developing and implementing strategy, policy and change or innovation projects in specialist areas, which impact across a health economy.
  • Experience of presenting and communicating complex information about risks and issues to a senior audience in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience and a track record of leading and managing complex initiatives in a fast moving and high-pressure environment.
  • Experience of direct responsibility for budget management and monitoring including setting programme budgets to ensure cost effective digital investment

Skills and Knowledge
Essential
  • Leadership of, or active involvement in, at least one major recent digital project (such as EPR) to improve care quality
  • High level influencing skills: able to persuade clinicians to engage with, implement and embed change to achieve successful outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills: able to express complicated, multistranded concepts in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing and in a multi- professional environment
  • Expert knowledge in the development of NHS strategy, policy and guidance and of associated policy.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret in depth health information and to ensure the effectiveness of initiatives and programmes and to consider diverse and different opinion to reach conclusions or consensus. The ability to lead meetings, prioritise tasks and resolve conflicts

Desirable
  • Good understanding of the current social and political environment and of Clinical and Corporate Governance issues
