An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse to join our Brent Integrated Care Team, based at Wembley Park. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated clinician who is passionate about delivering high quality, evidence based tissue viability care within the community.

As a Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse, you will provide expert, holistic assessment, advice and intervention for patients with complex wound care needs, with a strong focus on wound prevention, healing and patient centred outcomes. You will play a key role in ensuring consistently high standards of care, supporting best practice and improving clinical outcomes across the service.

You will work autonomously within the community while also collaborating closely with colleagues across the Outer North West Division, including the Brent and Harrow Tissue Viability Nursing teams and the wider multidisciplinary team. The role offers the opportunity to influence practice, enhance patient experience and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development and improvement of the Tissue Viability service.

You will receive regular clinical supervision from the Tissue Viability Service Lead, alongside access to ongoing training, professional development opportunities and team meetings, ensuring you are supported to grow, lead and thrive within your role

Main duties of the job

• Provide expert clinical leadership, assessment and treatment for patients with highly complex wounds, ensuring consistently high standards of evidence based, patient centred care
• Line manage and support staff, including supervision, performance management, education and professional development
• Lead and deliver training and education across the Tissue Viability service and wider workforce, designing formal training materials and supporting clinical competence
• Contribute to service development through research, innovation and the application of evidence based practice, including equipment evaluation, formulary development, pathways, SOPs and policies
• Support effective resource and budget management and participate in internal and external audits to drive continuous service improvement
• Act as a visible clinical leader and role model, providing specialist expertise and leadership within the multidisciplinary team

Education/Qualification
Essential

• Educated to Masters Level in relevant clinical speciality or equivalent combination of post graduate diploma, courses, and experience
• Registered Nurse
• Extensive experience as a tissue viability nurse
• Post registration course in wound management or leg ulcer management
• Independent non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake

Desirable

• Teaching qualification
• Mentorship in practice or equivalent
• Relevant course in wound care/pressure ulcer care/ leg ulcer management

Experience

• Working within a Primary Health Care setting
• Working in a role of Tissue Viability
• Research and Audit
