Job summaryAre you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated clinician to join our specialist Eating Disorders Service at Parkview.
Parkview provides specialist inpatient care for children and young people across a range of clinical pathways and is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, and recovery-focused care. This role focuses on supporting young people aged 12-17 with complex eating disorder and mental health needs within a highly specialist inpatient setting.
As part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, family therapists, and support staff to deliver outstanding care and achieve the best possible outcomes for the young people we serve. You will hold clinical responsibility for a defined caseload, undertaking assessment, care planning, risk management, and therapeutic interventions, while working closely with young people, families, and carers throughout their recovery journey.

Main duties of the jobThe postholder will act as a visible and positive role model, maintaining high levels of professional conduct and clinical leadership. The post holder will lead and co-ordinate the clinical responsibility for all aspects of the nursing care planning, developing specialist programmes of care from pre-admission to discharge within the clinical area of responsibility; in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, the young person and their family/carer.
The post holder will be jointly responsible for the clinical development and clinical supervision of all nursing staff within the clinical area of responsibility at Parkview, working collaboratively with ward manager, under the direction of the Matron and Head of Nursing.
The post holder will provide cover for the Ward Managers as required.

Job responsibilitiesAs a key member of our specialist Eating Disorders Service, you will provide expert nursing leadership and therapeutic support to young people with complex eating disorder presentations. Holding direct oversight of a clinical caseload, you will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop person-centred care plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions that promote recovery and positive outcomes. Working closely with young people and their families, you will help ensure every stage of the care pathway is delivered with compassion, professionalism, and a strong therapeutic focus.
You will work collaboratively within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to coordinate and oversee treatment plans, ensuring recommendations are implemented, evaluated, and adapted to meet the changing needs of each young person. Building strong relationships with patients, families, carers, and partner agencies, you will play a central role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused inpatient environment while supporting successful transitions back to the community.
Beyond direct clinical care, you will contribute to the ongoing development and excellence of the service through leadership, quality improvement, education, and governance activities. You will support and develop colleagues through supervision, training, and mentorship, contribute to recruitment and workforce development, and help shape innovative clinical practice across the wider Children and Young People's Directorate. Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Extensive experience of working in an Eating Disorder service in a minimum of Band 6 level position in either community or inpatient service
- Experience of developing and sharing knowledge and skills with staff through both formal and informal teaching sessions.
- Experience of deputising for a ward manager within a service in order to provide cover as required
QualificationEssential- Registered Nurse (RNLD/RNMH/RN)
Desirable- Master's degree, working towards or equivalent significant specialist training, experience or short courses relevant to the area of clinical practice
Knowledge and SkillsEssential- Specialist Clinical knowledge of complex issues relating to working within Tier 4 Eating Disorder Service
- Knowledge of the development, implementation and evaluation of complex packages of care for patients relating to individual diagnosis
- Knowledge of developing, implementing and evaluating person centred care planning and health action plans
