Job summaryExciting opportunity within the recently commissioned Paediatric Psychiatric Liaison team within the Great North Children's Hospital. The candidate will be expected to offer senior clinical expertise to colleagues within NUTH and work closely with Children's community mental health teams around follow up where required. You will be part of a wider MDT and also expected to be available to offer advice and support to the CNTW children's urgent care pathway within CNTW, known as ICTS, and wider CAMHS providers as this is a regional children's hospital.
Main duties of the jobWe are looking for a highly experienced nurse, with extensive clinical knowledge of working within children's urgent mental health pathways, and psychiatric liaison experience. Extensive experience of working with partners in Acute trust settings as well as social care providers of services for children. You will report to the Associate Director for the liaison services and as nurse consultant support continuous service improvements.

Person SpecificationEducation and QualificationEssential- First level Registered Nurse
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Postgraduate qualification at Masters level or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Evidence of experience in therapeutic interventions relevant to specialty, i.e. nurse Prescribing, CBT, DBT, PSI, EFT, NLP and Family Interventions, Group work
- Advanced level therapeutic training in one of the above modalities
Desirable- Doctorate or working towards
- Nurse Prescribing Course or will work towards
- Responsible Clinician status (or working toward)
Knowledge and ExperienceEssential- Extensive experience of working within areas relevant to designated team.
- Experience of working therapeutically with adults of all ages
- Substantial experience in a nursing leadership role
- Have led service development changes, awareness of the evolving healthcare agenda and the implications for nursing.
- Experience of research and development into practice
- Evidence of facilitating quality improvement in practice
- Knowledge of clinical governance issues
- Experience of training and education / lecturing within higher education field
Desirable- Experience of contributing to the development of nursing at a regional / national level
- Experience of contributing towards service development at an organisational / regional / national level
- Exposure to the corporate development of nursing services
- Experience of taking on the role of Responsible Clinician
