Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner (PCMHP) within the Children's Neurodevelopmental pathway as part of the Lifespan Model to become an integral part of the South Tyneside PCN.
We would welcome applicants who have outstanding skills, knowledge, and experience of working within this field supporting the B7 practitioners. Applicants must have strong communication and organisational skills and will be proactive and dynamic with experience of working autonomously within a community setting, including managing risk management.

Main duties of the jobThis role will allow the successful applicant to provide professional advice, support and improve access to mental health care for children and young people with mild to moderate or stable severe mental ill health problems and/or difficulties associated with neurodivergence by delivering holistic assessment and evidence based care in the context of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, primary mental health service.
The successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We are committed to providing both management and clinical supervision as well peer support and will support with continuous professional development.

Person SpecificationEducation and QualificationEssential- Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
- Mentor Training.
- Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
- Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post.
- Training in CPA (Care Programme Approach), Safeguarding, MAPPA (Multi Agency Panel for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults) and Child Protection.
- Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.
Desirable- Post registration qualification in psychological intervention
- Experience of working within a community team.
- Non-Medical Prescribing
Skills and CompetenciesEssential- Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Risk Assessment and Risk Management / Safety Planning skills.
- Demonstrate an understanding of effective & appropriate treatment options including a range of evidence based clinical approaches as identified in N.I.C.E. Guidance).
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
