Achievement of this qualification & completion of the apprenticeship enables you to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a qualified Pharmacy Technician. One of the quickest routes to becoming a registered healthcare professional.
As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you can apply for jobs across a variety of sectors, when opportunities became available in the competitive job market. You can progress your career by gaining experience and specialising in areas such as mental health, frailty, information technology, education & training & leadership.
Please note: the salary advertised is for a band 4 post, however this apprenticeship is subject to annex 21. If the annex 21 renumeration is below the National Minimum Wage, the National Minimum Wage will be applied.
Main duties of the job- Work in accordance with Derbyshire Community Hospital Services (DCHS) Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures and with direct or indirect supervision to work as part of the Pharmacy Team to provide an effective patient-focussed pharmacy service across specified areas.
- Undertake supervised training in the principles and practice of pharmacy, gaining the technical knowledge, skills and experience required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- You will need to be committed to learning, be highly motivated and have good interpersonal skills
About usYou will be based at Walton Hospital Pharmacy Department, working within the well-established Medicines Management Team.
The team consists of around 25 staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants, and administrative support, with a wide range of experience.
There is a requirement to travel from the base at Walton Hospital to support a variety of different services across Derbyshire Community Health Services (DCHS), which operate across approximately 9 community hospitals, 4 Urgent Treatment Centres, many clinics and health centres, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
