Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic clinician to join our Clinical Site Management Team based at St Ann's Hospital. This is a varied and challenging role that plays a key part in ensuring the safe and effective management of inpatient services across the site.

As a Clinical Site Manager, you will have responsibility for the oversight and management of all inpatient beds, supporting safe and timely admissions for adult acute MH patients. Working closely with the Patient Flow Manager, you will support the operational management of site-wide inpatient services, contributing to effective patient flow.

The role requires the ability to work autonomously, make sound clinical judgments, and professionally challenge and support clinical decisions when required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the organisation.

We offer a comprehensive induction, ongoing clinical and management supervision, and access to a strong professional support network. The post holder will be required to work flexibly across a 7-day rota, with occasional night cover required to support the service.

The post is full-time 37.5 hours a week, but this is negotiable and flexible working requests or part-time hours will always be considered. This can be discussed further at interview.

Main duties of the job
In this post, you will be responsible for the management of all inpatient beds and to ensure the safe admissions for Adult Acute patients, CAMH's patients, Frail functional patients Older persons (with the exclusion of those patients with a primary diagnosis of dementia).

You will be accountable for their decision-making and take responsibility for ensuring admissions are made to an appropriate environment with the safety of the patient, carer and staff members as paramount. You will need an open and positive approach to develop excellent communication skills with all inpatient wards, Team Leaders, Modern Matrons, patient flow lead, Service Line Leads and medical staff.

You will have the ability to make clear autonomous decisions based on analysis of complex presenting problems and judgement of available options is essential. This will include those relating to the admission and discharge of patients from inpatient services.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner (or willingness to work toward)

  • Leadership training

Previous Experience

  • Previous line management experience
  • ENB998 or Teaching & Assessing qualification

  • Recent previous experience within a comparable role

Skills / Abilities & Knowledge

  • Evidence of Management and Leadership skills
  • Experience of working with Adult and Older People with Mental Health needs
  • Evidence of IT skills and ability to produce reports
  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise effectively
