Working closely with clinical and operational colleagues, you will drive high-quality, patient-centred services that are safe, effective, responsive and sustainable.

Main duties of the jobThe Head of Therapies will provide strategic, operational and professional leadership across Therapy Services, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality patient care. Working closely with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues, the post holder will champion excellence across Allied Health Professional (AHP) services, promoting innovation, collaboration and professional standards.
Reporting to the Divisional Director of Operations, you will play a key role in delivering the Trust's ambitions, leading service improvement, transformation and workforce development initiatives that enhance patient experience and outcomes. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to achieve excellence.
As the senior professional lead for therapies, you will lead the development of patient-centred services that meet population needs and support Trust priorities.
Working with partners across health and social care, you will help shape integrated models of care, including Discharge to Assess, Virtual Wards, admission avoidance, reablement and enhanced discharge pathways, ensuring seamless patient journeys and care delivered in the right place, at the right time.
The successful candidate will be an HCPC-registered professional with significant leadership experience, a proven track record of service transformation and a passion for developing people, improving services and delivering outstanding care for patients and communities.

Job responsibilitiesWe are looking for an experienced, professionally credible therapy leader with the qualifications, judgement and personal impact to lead complex services across a large acute Trust. You will bring a strong track record of senior clinical leadership, service improvement and partnership working, alongside the ability to inspire teams and influence at all levels.
You will also need to be adaptable, organised and solutions-focused, with the ability to make sound operational and strategic decisions. The role requires participation in the On-Call Manager rota and the ability to travel independently between Trust sites.

Person SpecificationEssential- Professional registration with the relevant professional body and the Health and Care Professions Council, supported by postgraduate management and leadership development.
- Master's level study in a relevant subject, or equivalent senior-level experience in a specialist area.
- Significant postgraduate experience in the acute sector, including at least four years at Band 8 level.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills, including the confidence to manage complex or contentious discussions.
- Visible, compassionate leadership with the ability to build teams, delegate effectively, empower others and support multidisciplinary working.
- Proven experience in change management, innovation, budget management, service planning and the use of financial, workforce and performance data to inform decisions.
- A sound understanding of clinical and corporate governance, risk management, current therapy priorities and wider developments affecting patient care.
Desirable- Experience of delivery in a community setting
