You will support the Team to provide physical health checks, support and advice; as well as support the assessment process for children and young people through observations both in clinic and in educational settings.

Main duties of the jobAs a Registered Nurse Associate for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Neurodevelopmental Service you will be responsible for physical health checks for children and young people who are prescribed medication to treat their ADHD. This will also involve giving support and advice to children, young people and their families/carers. Knowledge of normal childrens physical health parameters and growth will be essential to the role, as will the ability to escalate concerns related to these. Your day to day role will involve running clinics across Worcestershire and also visiting educational settings to complete observations of children and young people as directed by assessing clinicians.
Services for Children with ASD and ADHD are undergoing exciting transformation in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Developments are fast moving and require someone who is agile and can work with uncertainty, risk and pressure.
A demonstrable track record of working with Children and Families or transferrable skills in clinical settings would be advantageous.

Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience in prioritising own workload.
- Experience in working without direct supervision.
Desirable- Previous experience as a Healthcare Support Worker involved in direct patient care in a care environment.
- Experience of dealing with the public in person and on the phone.
- Experience in carrying out assigned duties/assisting qualified staff after training.
- Experience in supervising others.
KnowledgeEssential- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development.
- Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code.
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice.
- Understands requirements for NMC professional Revalidation.
- Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans.

QualificationsEssential- Foundation Degree Nursing Associate qualification.
- NMC Nursing Associate registration.
- GCSE English (grade A-C) or equivalent.
- GCSE Maths (grade A-C) or equivalent.
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Desirable- IT Qualifications.
- CAVA or Assessors qualifications.
