Job summaryAre you an enthusiastic dietitian with an interest in working with adults with diabetes in the community?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic specialist diabetes dietitian, to join the community team in Herts Valleys integrated Diabetes Service (HIDS), working in South and West Hertfordshire. The role includes clinics (face to face and telephone) and group education sessions (face to face and virtual).
Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)

Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will work as part of HIDS which is an integrated service working across community and acute settings.
We are committed to delivering a quality service, value staff training and CPD and have a robust appraisal and supervisory framework. Electronic records are used throughout the Trust, further aiding our ability to work across a wide variety of settings and be in a position to work as part of an MDT, yet work remotely if needed as part of a hybrid approach to our work/ life balance. We have embraced technology to use new systems for virtual group education sessions.

Job responsibilitiesWorking independently to provide specialist dietetic advice on the dietary and nutritional management of patients with diabetes within HIDS as part of the multidisciplinary community diabetes team
Person SpecificationOther- Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
Qualifications and Training- BSc Nutrition & Dietetics degree or equivalent
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Attained or working towards a postgraduate qualification in diabetes as a specialist area or evidence of significant experience in a specialist area.
Experience and Knowledge- Evidence of working with patients with diabetes.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary health care setting
- Up to date knowledge of dietetic practice
Skills and abilities- Good interpersonal skills
- Good motivational skills
- Ability to use own initiative and work independently
