Job summaryYou will be required to provide evidence based dietetic advice to children and young people with diabetes. A knowledge of carbohydrate counting education, insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring is required.
As a band 7, you will be one of the senior members of the paediatric dieticians team. You will support the paediatric diabetes team and dieticians team lead in monitoring, developing and evolving the dietetic service across the Trust and you will also be providing support to the junior members of the team including colleagues, students and apprentices.
We are looking for a Dietitian with strong communication, organisational, team working and leadership skills with a passion for Diabetes. They should be focused on providing a high quality dietetic service which is evidence based and responsive to the changing needs of the NHS and this patient group.
Main duties of the jobAs a band 7, you will be one of the senior members of the paediatric dieticians team. The post holder will be expected to manage high quality clinical service delivery to their patients and to lead on clinical and service development projects. The post holder will seek opportunities within the MDT to lead on service improvement, audit and research.

Knowledge and ExperienceEssential- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate qualification
- Advanced knowledge of evidence based practice in paediatrics including Paediatric Diabetes knowledge
- Extensive clinical dietetic paediatric experience including paediatric diabetes
Desirable- Knowledge and application of counselling skills/motivational interviewing/behavioural change
- Experience in managing insulin pumps
Qualification/MembershipEssential- Member of BDA
- HCPC registration
- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate qualification
Desirable- Member of Paediatric DMEG
