Main duties of the job

• To lead, manage, maintain, plan and co-ordinate all areas of responsibility (Pharmacy Clinical Services, Education & Training Teams for all sites) at Imperial in line with Trust Priorities and Pharmacy strategic objectives.
• To ensure delivery of high quality services which are patient focussed and consistent across the Trust sites.
• To ensure services are provided in accordance with current regulations, best practice and legal requirements.
• To set standards for services, monitor performance, and ensure that services are provided efficiently and in accordance with the needs of users.
• To develop, train, motivate and encourage staff working within the team and the department as a whole.
• To support the Pharmacy Leadership team in the development, maintenance and implementation of the annual business plans and service strategies for the department.
• To act as the Operational Site Lead as required in the absence of the respective Deputy Chief Pharmacist (s) as required.
• To Deputise for the Deputy Chief Pharmacists, Chief Pharmacist and other members of the Pharmacy executive team at department, trust and external meetings as required.
• To provide expert clinical pharmacy services, department and ward based in line with Trust procedures, national guidance and government legislation

• Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
• GPhC registered Pharmacist
• Mandatory GPHC Professional CPD
• Higher Degree/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy
• Post Graduate management / leadership qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable

• RPS member

Experience
Essential

• Significant experience of staff management and management experience within clinical/clinical support services
• Comprehensive experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner-This must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice
• Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for patients
• Previous experience in developing and delivering training and education
• Demonstrable use of clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to improve practice

Desirable

• Previous experience of chairing multidisciplinary meetings
• Published research

• Good ability to organise and prioritise work
• Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and management
