We are seeking a stress echocardiography-accredited Clinical Scientist with a strong track record in delivering echocardiography education to join our forward-thinking department, where innovation and excellence are central to everything we do.
This role combines clinical practice in stress echocardiography with the delivery of education and training for all echocardiography trainees across Imperial, with approximately 60% of the role dedicated to clinical practice and 40% to education delivery.
As part of a comprehensive cardiac diagnostics service, you will play a key role in delivering the full spectrum of echocardiographic investigations, from routine 3D imaging and myocardial strain analysis to advanced stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) in support of structural heart interventions.
Main duties of the job- Independently lead exercise stress-echocardiography lists in a range if patient cohorts.
- Oversee the development and delivery of echocardiography education programmes and materials.
- Independently interpret findings and issue final clinically diagnostic reports to a highly competent professional standard.
- Supervising, training, and providing informal teaching to multidisciplinary staff in echocardiography techniques.

Person SpecificationEducation/QualificationsEssential- Clinical scientist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
- BSE accreditation in both adult and stress-echocardiography
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development Education
- ILS certified
Desirable- PhD or working towards a higher degree
ExperienceEssential- Proven experience at a supervisory level in specialist area. Experience of training scientific and medical staff. High level of knowledge of all aspects of specialist subject. Evidence of active CPD.
- High level of clinical competence in stress-echocardiography and ability to supervise staff in specialist section of the cardiac science/cardiac physiology with upto-date knowledge of current trends in cardiac research and practice.
- Informal teaching of complex physiological concepts on a one to one basis
- Competence in PC word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Good written and oral communication skills.
Desirable- Significant managerial experience with post-grad management qualifications.
