We are recruiting for CT Radiographer who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. This is a truly exciting time to join our team as we work in the newly developed Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) that delivers first-class diagnostic care to our community. The new centre has created the ability to deliver joined up diagnostic care, and with increased capacity this ensures our patients have faster access to treatment, earlier diagnosis, and improved outcomes. By becoming part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in innovative ways and play a central role in how we improve patient pathways, delivering the right test, at the right time, in the right place. We are looking for experienced CT Radiographers to come and work in our forward-thinking department. Our normal practice would be to develop staff internally however an exciting opportunity has arisen for external candidates to apply.
Main Duties of the JobTo conduct a wide range of CT scans upon a range of patient types, both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi-professional team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements. Participate in the out of hours on call rota. Radiographers practice will involve lone working in particular specialties and at particular times. Patient presentation will include the unconscious, uncooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, disorientated and those with physical and mental disabilities. A wide variety of patients will be encountered and will include those exhibiting anti-social behaviour including both un-convicted and legally convicted e.g. prisoners. Other influencing factors include the skills needed to provide patients or relatives with empathy and emotional support for the bereaved, terminally ill, injured, traumatised or those altered by substance use/abuse. Person SpecificationQualifications- Diploma of College of Radiographers or BSc equivalent
- State Registration with the Health & Care Profession Council
Knowledge- Extensive knowledge of Clinical Governance within the NHS
- Evidence of multidisciplinary team working
- Experience in CT/MR
- Experience in student supervision
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Post qualification experience in CT (Desirable)
Physical Skills- Able to wear radiation protective clothing (5mm equivalence) and monitoring devices
- Be able to operate VDU equipment in both image acquisition and data management
- Be able to operate manual handling aids, as provided by the department including patient slide boards, sheets, hoists and trolleys
- Be able to operate and move full range of radiographic equipment Including over-couch tubes, mobile Image Intensifiers with monitors and mobile x-ray machines (motorised and non-motorised)
- Attend annual update and complete e-learning modules, as required in relation to manual handling (Desirable)
Aptitudes- Must be able to demonstrate good technical knowledge and continue to development it
Abilities- Must be able to work to short deadlines and have a flexible approach to workload
Communication Skills- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good presentation skills
